Thorvaldsens Museum

— BRAND IDENTITY DESIGN
— SYSTEMS DESIGN

This project aims to create a new visual identity for Thorvaldsens Museum that supports and promotes the museum. The problem is that the museum currently attracts around 60-62 visitors a year. Most are first-time or foreign visitors, but not many of them come back. The current logo seems outdated, and the signage inside and around the museum is not visually coherent.

This project tries to create a modern system that is still rooted in antiquity, and to appeal to the younger generation while exhibiting the essence of Thorvaldsens Museum. This project also uses elements, patterns, and colors inspired by the museum building itself, while showcasing the sculptures.
